I know I&#8217;m lame. Sorry. The header also makes it seem &#8212; to those who think I&#8217;m making some <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Transsylvania_Phoenix\">Transsylvanian pop reference<\/a>, at least &#8212; as if I have some sort of vehicle-induced tumescent problem. Which isn&#8217;t true&#8230;well <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.popularmechanics.com\/technology\/upgrade\/4201429.html\">maybe<\/a>. I haven&#8217;t blogged in weeks and I head right to the lame pun. For shame.<\/p>\n<p>Trumping the aforementioned <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.teslamotors.com\/index.php?js_enabled=1\">Tesla Motors Company<\/a>&#8216;s plans for an electric family car, Phoenix Motorcars announces their (arguably) affordable ($45K)<a href=\"https:\/\/www.lstr.net\/blog\/http3A2F2Fnews.com.com2F2100-11389_3-6139703.html3Fpart3Drss26tag3D2547-1_3-0-2026subj3Dnews\"> electric SUV at the LA Auto Show<\/a>.  <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/66.218.37.153\/index.htm\">Phoenix Motorcars<\/a>, who are so cool they don&#8217;t need words in their URL (http:\/\/66.218.37.153\/index.htm, again, I&#8217;m lame), says it&#8217;ll have a range of 250 miles and do about 110 mph, similar to Tesla&#8217;s roadster. Both cars are powered by lithium-ion batteries and both cars manufacturers promise said batteries won&#8217;t catch fire. Phoenix also says they&#8217;ll sell a special adapter to recharge the SUV in <strike>6 to 7<\/strike> less than 10 minutes, which to me sounds like a big deal. A <strike>seven<\/strike> ten minute stop on the highway isn&#8217;t terribly inconvenient in the middle of a long road trip.<\/p>\n<p>Apparently, Phoenix announced this<a href=\"http:\/\/66.218.37.153\/news.htm\"> last month<\/a>, but I only know what I read on <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.engadget.com\/2006\/12\/01\/phoenix-motorcars-intros-a-truly-plug-and-play-car\/\">Engadget<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Now, if only we had a convenient source of <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.popularmechanics.com\/science\/research\/3760347.html\">electricity<\/a>&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ugh.
