We decided on a new camera after our old one’s LCD died. (Sometimes, I miss viewfinders.) We’ve got a vacation coming up and I feel like a bad parent already for the lack of photos of the new kid.<\/p>\n

Anyway, we picked up a new Canon Powershot a470 on Amazon<\/a> , for a fraction of the price we bought our last point-and-shoot. I haven’t run it through its paces yet, but I’m happy with it so far. I know little about photography, but somehow this camera seems to shoot, well, warmer<\/em> pictures.<\/p>\n

Here are some shots of my MOST recent purchase. After finding out that I’ll be staying at a hotel in Palo Alto with a Trader Vic’s next month, I couldn’t resist this impulse purchase while diaper shopping at Walgreens:<\/p>\n
