Here’s a neat little reference post for me from The Brothers Brick<\/a> about knowing your audience, the starting point for crafting almost any message.<\/p>\n

It is always worth hearing again…this time in a slightly different context.<\/p>\n

Here, two people look at the same image of a nifty LEGO spaceship:<\/p>\n

\u00c2\u00a0My thoughts were:<\/strong><\/p>\n

  1. Whoah, neat.<\/li>\n
  2. Dig the colour blocking.<\/li>\n
  3. Nice greebling<\/a>.<\/li>\n
  4. But it seems he ran out of pirate hooks – he\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s missing one on the front.<\/li>\n
  5. And the x-pod is integrated pretty well.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m a 23 year old male Swede, semi-blond, both parents alive, adult fan of LEGO for six years.<\/p>\n

    I asked my friend to do the same.<\/strong>\u00c2\u00a0Here\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s what she got:<\/p>\n

    1. Ooh, blue.<\/li>\n
    2. And chunky.<\/li>\n
    3. It has a lot of dots on it.<\/li>\n
    4. Looks like a fish face.<\/li>\n
    5. A fish face that\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s smiling, even.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/blockquote>\n
      Speaking of communications and knowing your audience, I added the link to “greeble” here. If you pick almost any topic, you’ll be sure to find a bizarre subculture willing to support it. Apparently, there is a huge community of adult LEGO builders out there. They, of course, have their own lexicon. Nifty.<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
